I showed the blog to a few people and the questions are always the same. So I decided to write a post with some explanations:

Why “famigliabettiol” (italian) and not “familybettiol” (english) or “familiabettiol” (portuguese)?

This blog was created to be multilingual. English seems to be more suitable, but as the surname is Italian, I decided it would be better to have an Italian name. The website itself is in Italian.

Why didn’t you create a domain like “www.bettiol.org” (.com, .net, etc.)?

We (Silvano and me) want to share what we know about the family. It must to be simple and inexpensive. I created the blog by myself without spend any money. If it works as it should, in the future we can register a domain.

Why English, Portuguese and Italian? It’s never going to speak Spanish or French?

Well, Portuguese is my native language. All my family here in Brazil speaks Portuguese.
Italian is our origin and I think many Bettiol in the world speak Italian as a second language.
English is the universal language, and I hope it can reach more and more people this way.

We don’t have writers in other languages. If you want to write, you are welcome. Just send us your information and we will be glad to have you among us.
